This residence for a family of four was built in Hayama-cho, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Although there is no ocean view, the environment is rich in nature, surrounded by the sea and mountains unique to Hayama. The LDK is located on the first floor, and the private rooms and water area are located on the second floor. For the husband, who is also a surfer, and the family who have taken up SUP, we created a space closely related to daily life with an outside shower, a deck with a tarp on which they can enjoy meals in their swimsuits, an entrance with a mortar finish to prevent sand from getting in, and a tiled dining kitchen that can be accessed directly from the outside shower. The composition and choice of materials resulted in a house that matches the relaxing atmosphere typical of Hayama.
