“Patio” is a very typical space in Mediterranean buildings. Sometimes they are small gardens inside the building separated form street noises, where all neighbors can open onto them.

The rehabilitated building is situated in old town in Vic, therefore the rehabilitations is conditioned and it must to conserve some facades. So we consider to open a big central “patio” to provide light and ventilation to all dwellings.

This space contains the communication nucleus, made with concrete, and all gateway-ramps linking different existing levels. The “patio” atmosphere is as a garden, where climbing plants will colonize the interior facades; this garden is converted on a quality space, an ideal location to establish relations and take a break as a prelude to home access.
